Where CWS Rigging works
CWS Rigging is an industrial rigging and machinery moving company based in Henderson, Colorado. We move, install, transport and store production equipment for plants, machine shops and warehouses across the state, from a single machine tool to a whole line coming out during a shutdown.
Most of what we do sits in the Denver metro, because that is where most of Colorado’s manufacturing sits. The work travels though. A machine that has to come out of a building in Grand Junction is the same problem as one in Commerce City, with a longer drive and a route that needs more thought.

What decides a job, and it is rarely the mileage
People tend to ask about distance first. Distance is the easy part. The parts that actually decide whether a move works, and what it costs, are the two buildings and the road between them.
Weight and dimensions
Height, width, length and weight set the trailer, the rigging and whether the load needs a permit at all. A machine that is 2 inches over on width changes the paperwork, not just the price.
Getting it out
Door widths, overhead clearance, turning radius, dock height and what the floor is rated to carry. Plenty of machines are harder to get out of a room than across a state.
The route
Oversize and overweight loads on Colorado highways run on CDOT permits, and the approved route can differ from the obvious one. Bridge limits and low clearances decide more routes than distance does.
Season and corridor
Winter on the mountain corridors moves schedules. A load that runs I‑70 in October is a different conversation in February, and it is better had before the machine is on the trailer.

What to have ready when you call
You do not need any of this to get a conversation started. Having it to hand is the difference between a rough number and a real one.
- Make, model and weight of the equipment, or a photo of the data plate.
- Rough dimensions, particularly the widest and tallest points once it is on a trailer.
- Where it is now and where it is going, including floor level at both ends.
- How it gets out: doors, docks, lifts, overhead clearance, and the floor rating on the route.
- Whether it needs to be disconnected or reconnected, and who is doing that.
- Your timeline, and whether the move sits inside a shutdown window.

Does CWS Rigging work outside the Denver metro?
Yes. We are based in Henderson, just north east of Denver, and we work across Colorado. The metro is where most of our work sits simply because most of the state’s manufacturing does, but distance on its own is rarely what decides a job. Access and weight usually matter more.
What decides whether you can move a machine at my site?
Four things, in roughly this order: what the machine weighs and measures, how it gets out of the building, what the route between the two sites allows, and how it gets into position at the other end. A door that is 2 inches too narrow will stop a job that 200 miles of highway would not.
Do you handle the permits for an oversize load?
Oversize and overweight loads on Colorado highways run on permits issued by CDOT, and the route, the dimensions and the axle weights all feed into what gets approved. Tell us the load and where it has to go, and we will tell you what the move needs.
